WOW is all i can say, DOUBLE WOW in fact, i finally got a surefire that my brother bought for me (which was nice) and now im in the surefire mood /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

anyway he bought me a E2e and i absolutely love the little guy, but i want to buy another. So i was woundering which way i should go??? down size to an E1 or go up to a 9p. Although i cant find the 9p on surefires site...what gives there? was it a dud that they covered up or is it an ex model, cause im in a position to buy a 9p right now but the E1 i would have to wait who knows how long (buying from ebay you see) well any pointers would be greatly recieved thanks /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

The 9P has been discontinued.

My personal opinion is that in the realm of incandescents, the M3T should be the next on your list. The 9P is certainly more light producing a bigger beam but it is kinda crude compared to the E2e. For impressiveness a TurboHead SureFire will continue your "Wow!" factor.

If you don't go "up to a TurboHead" from the E2e, I suggest you get the KL4 bezel for it.

Good luck with your choice!

Al

Unless you're into collecting Surefires (like I am), then don't bother with the E1 or E1e. You should get an Arc LSH or Arc4 from Peter.

Al don't say that! Guess what attachment I need to get for my M3 now /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Actually its just made me more impatient on my M6 pre-order /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

In terms of the E1e / E2e, I think Maverick is correct (I now have both), although the E1e is still useful to me. Put it this way, I don't think the wow factor will be there if you get the E1e...

I would go to the next brightest flashlight. You think you're impressed now with the E2E, just wait until you use a 3X123 light. Go for it.You'll be happy.LOL

If you are getting the E1e then you would need the KL4 to make it shine or else you would be better off getting an Arc light. In fact I prefer the idea of an Arc 4+ although I don't own one.

My next best recommendation would be the M3 or M3T if budget is not a constraint. Alternatively you might want to look at the C3 Centurion with type III hard anodizing or HAIII.

Well, this won't be a popular response, but I was hunting around just like you for something brighter. Turned out I was totally satisfied with a simple inexpensive mod: take a new Maglite 2C for $14, get a piece of the right sized PVC that will hold three 123's, and put in a KPR112 Radio Shack bulb. You've got a very reasonable sized light that you modded yourself that will match any three cell light you can get in terms of throw. It's bigger, no doubt, but it serves all my needs. Now, I'm more interested in small useful lights; the Arc suggestion is a good one.

Spend the bucks- Get A M6. Whitest small bright flashlight. I am getting one a soon as the new crenelated bezel model is in stock. You could get a UK Light Cannon 100 for $170 though which also rated at 500 Lumens but it is a bigger light, won't fit in pocket. It is VERY water proof though and uses C cells. Has special HID bulb. I like the SF L6- a bit longer but very nice. I think they lied to- catalog says 65 Lumens but seems brighter- maybe I got a hot Luxeon....
Welcome to the Flashaholics- your in trouble now.. These things cost $$$$. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon23.gif But at least you can see where you are going. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/drool.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/huh.gif

PS DO NOT under any cicumstances read about "SUPERLIGHTS" on this forum (HID type) or you will go broke...

Hmmmm, well, Hmmmm... well now i know why i couldnt find anything on the 9p, and i see your points about not bothering with E1e, hell i can buy a KL1 head and turn the E2e into one /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

"The 9P is certainly more light producing a bigger beam but it is kinda crude compared to the E2e" HUH??? are you relating to build quality or life of battery/blrightness or what?
I NOW have the chance to buy a KL1 head AND a 9p for the price of a KL4... which makes better sense for me? Only thing is how is the Black Anodizing compared to the HA stuff? still pretty strong? since this is one of my hold-ups on the 9p

With No Surefire dealer here in Singapore and unable to purchase on-line, /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon23.gif When will I ever get my first Surefire. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon23.gif

Stong, I'm in Hong Kong and have access to most Surefire lights. I might be able to work something out for ya.

I know your excited to buy another Surefire, but what's the rush?

Take some time and read up here on the various models, that way you can spend your money wisely, as Surefire's are not cheap.

Double is right,

You should do some reading before your next purchase. Maybe I should do 20 hours of reading before any light purchase.

The E2e has Hard Anodising, a Pyrex lens bezel with scallops, a PocketClip (choice of short or long), useful knurling, a host of useful options - 1W (KL1) and 5W (KL4) LED bezels, Clickie TailCap (Z57), and the stock bezel can take either the standard MN03 or long runtime MN02 lamp.

The 9P is crude compared to that. In terms of options, I see a TurboHead as a viable upgrade.

I'm not a huge fan of the P90/P91 lamps. Sure they are more light but the beams aren't different enough from the P60/P61 to make it worth my while. I'd rather use the light to create a more powerful TurboHead beam.

HA will not wear and scratch like standard black does.

I know what Size means by crude. I have had these lights and still have my very first Surefire, A 6Z. I will not fault the older surefires, they are good excellent tools. The newer flashlights just seem to have something extra. I do like the newer ones better but the old ones are still a useful ican lights as they every where...at least IMHO

A agree with the above "crude" comments. I bought my first 6P about 14 years ago now and a 9P about 12 years ago.

But compared to new Surefire models they are crude. I really can't understand the continued attraction of the 6P, but there seem to be frequent requests for comparisons of the 6P and E2e.

GregR

P.S. E2e is a gem compared to 6P!

I'm from Singapore and I have a SureFire C3 Centurion (Hard Anodized) + Click-On Lock Out Tailcap (Hard Anodized) (Z48) + Lamp/Reflector (P91) + Original Tailcap (Hard Anodized) + Original P90 Lamp/Reflector for sales. I'm offering it to any Singapore CPF member for a very good price. Condition is near mint at 9 out of 10. Just 2 small light scratches on the bezel.

BTW, stong1970, i have just PM you my contact.

I personally like the 6P for it's style more than anything else. I still think it's one of the prettiest surefire lights to date.
