I recently purchased a macs "the torch" but the battery pack that came with it is worn out . Its voltage after a fresh charge was 15.6V and after sitting for a day has dropped to 13.5 V. This was after giving it 4 discharge/charge cycles on a Hyperion EOS 1210i. Unable to recover this pack. And really seems to be lacking when powering the torch.

So, I am looking for either the end caps required to build a battery pack. The ends that would represent a "D" cell.

Or a cell holder for 12 2/3 Elite in 3 rows of four ?

Even a battery pack if I could be guaranteed it is a new/good pack. I would really like to try this new torch out someday :candle: Its just becoming MUCH more expensive then originally intended.

Any leads on a packs for "the torch" or have these vanished ?

Thanks for the link. But they are too long. Even if they were only 3 cells long that charging port would make the pack too long for the torch.

Fivemega has what you're looking for, from his Maxim 623 setup.

It was the perfect solution for my Mag623. Allows for replaceable cells...

Would like to avoid the pack from wicked as I have really heard nothing good in comparison to quality packs.

I have ordered 12 new 1500 Elite, just need to figure out how to assemble a pack now... esp the end caps. Which I have no idea where to buy.

Wish it was possible to find an original battery holder that was used in the torch but have a feeling those are few and far between.

Good luck! Building the pack requires spot welding the batteries together, let us know how it turns out.

You need to charge and then rest the cells to weed out the bad ones, then buy a double ended soldering iron, endcaps ( pull / cut these off old alc D's), wire ( to connect the end caps to the cells, solder, flux, heat shrink ( use a hair dryer to shrink) etc and then make uo a jig ( 1/2 a tube/ pipe on the slant, fix it in a vice or something) to use the double ended soldering iron, melt solder on each end, touch the cells on the iron and then remove and V-quickly slide the cells together, use the 1/2 cut bit of pipe , tilted to slide one cell down fast and straight ontop of the other to solder together neatly while solder still molten.

Go to cheapbatterypacks.com...they have most of the stuff you need, or just ask them to make a pack for you.
