Don't know if this is the right forum or not but I was out at lowes tonight and droped my keys.I saw them hit the ground and as soon as they did the light went out.Got to looking at it when I got in the light and the tube was broken clean in half.
Has anyone else had this to happen.Being in the US I know that any warranty that may be on them will do me no good. Its a same that 18.00 was shot that fast. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/huh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif

After about two months of putting my X2s to use on my keychain I noticed one day that the end cap was missing on my blue one. Luckily I found it so I could reattach it.

Since that fell off and looked like there was no glue holding it in place I checked the top cap that has the keyring hole and it was very loose too. Wiggled it around a bit and it came apart easily allowing access to the tritium tube. The top cap on my green one never came loose to this day but the bottom cap I was able to pull if off.

Some clear epoxy fixed em' better than new but for a $15 keychain you would expect them to be made sturdy and strong. Lost the X2 lottery I suppose? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinser2.gif

My experience is similar to darkzero's. The bottom cap is unmovable. The top cap was pretty tight. I thought it was tight enough not to have to worry. But it's under more stress, being attached to my keyring, and fell off in a parking lot. Fortunately nothing was shattered, so I secured it with JB-Weld epoxy when I got home.

I recommend that any owner try to get the glowring apart. If a cap comes off, then apply just a tiny dab of the epoxy to the inside of the aluminum cap, not on the plastic tube. That way there will be no visible epoxy residue.

J Smith, sorry to hear your X2 Glowring. The same happened to my Green X2. There is no warranty on the tritium tubes which may break if subjected to vibration, shock or misuse. You can order a replacement tritum tube from me if you like. Do let me know.

darkzero, PaulW, yes, there seems to be some QC problem during the making of the X2...unheard of from the regular glowrings. 5 parts (excluding drilling the acrylic casing) are used in the making of the X2 as compared to 3 from the regular glowrings.

Thanks Merkava, but I do have a older glowring that I could use the tube out of but I can seem to get the X2 apart.
