At the risk of being pendantic, technically the bin doesn't guarantee higher efficiency by itself. It gives higher output at a given drive current. Since Cree doesn't bin for forward voltage, and it varies by quite a bit more than the difference in output bins, you can't say for sure that an R5 is more efficient than an R4.
An R5 does have higher flux than an R4.
It's likely, although not certainly, more efficient.
