XTAR 18650 / 18700

it's been a while ago since I first asked this, but do you guys have done some new testing regarding the XTAR 18700/18650 batteries? I like the fact they are good priced, but I cannot seem to find any good test results.

Thanks. I will wait for it then. By the way, what's your thought on the WPA2 charger from Xtar? Looks like a good charger to me, much cheaper with the same characteristics as the PILIA?

It is a good charger, but it does not use a CC/CV algorithm. I have done a review of it, but it has been updated after that.

That's what I've been reading too. I'm looking for a good budget charger which uses the proper algorithm. Any ideas? Do you think the Xtar 2600 (with Sanyo) cells and the WPA2 charger are a good and safe combination for the 'non flashaholic'? I mean, the user who doesn't know very much about Li-Ion?

I did see a review of the 18700 Batteries on this Forum and they rated quite well. I have noticed something unusual about them however. I purchased two Citipower X7-T6 from Ebay. If I use a Ultrafire 3000 Mah, the light stays cool but is not extreamly bright. When I switch to the XTAR 18700, the light is 50% (a guess) brighter but the light gets too hot to hold after 20 minutes. I tried switching the batteries to the other light and I can repeat the process.

Does this mean there is a problem with the 18700 or is it just that the LED pulls so many amps that the battery gets hot trying to supply these amps? I have no way to measure the draw of the LED.
