Hi all,

I made a haste decision in buying the Fenix TK11 R2. Do you guys think i should return it and get something better? Can you give me the pros and cons on this light?

Thanks.

Keep it. You will love it. Its very well build, and throws very well (throws better than similar sized xpg lights.) I think you will like it. :hitit:
I have had mine for some time now, and the only con i can give it is: no tailstanding.

It also has a ringy beam if you care for wite wall hunting.

I agree with jorn. This is a solid, well-made light, and if your hasty decision was based on a good deal, then even better.

While I will not argue how great it is to have advancing light technology that allows me to choose the exact output I would prefer, it's sometimes nice to just have a super simple UI, one or two settings, and you don't even have to think about it - this is exactly what you get with the TK11. Add to that the ability to run 18650's, and it's got respectable runtimes for both settings.

If you search "TK11 R2," you will find quite a few threads discussing the light further.

Final recommendation - stop worrying and enjoy.

+3. I bought a TK10 and after a few months, wished I had bought the TK11 because of the battery versatility. However, at the time of purchase I had no idea what a "18650" battery was. When I did learn, well, see above comment.

Just a few months ago I bought a TK11 at a good price. Love it, love it, love it. Great feel in the hand, simple UI, fantastic throw. Keep it, surely you will fall in love with it.

Thanks guys for the honest replies and re-assurance. I guess i'll keep it. Btw, i picked it up when Amazon had it on sale. So i guess it wasn't bad after all.

Fenix generally makes great lights (of course there are always a few defects that slip through the quality control checks but these are rare), i have a TK20 and love it, have in fact given away my other 2xAA lights and this is currently my only 2xAA light left.

You'll enjoy the light and also the versatility in cells.

I recently bought the TK11 R2 and took it caving with me.

The light is impressively bright and throwy as you know, but it was also very resilient. I spent a few hours climbing and crawling through tight tunnels, through water, with it either holstered on my belt or in my hand (with supplied lanyard around my wrist) and the TK11 stood up to it all, no problems.

Just washed the mud off in the sink when I got home and it was good as new. No water or mud ingress into the light whatsoever.

It seems to live up to the "Tank" designator.

I was thinking the same and using this light to go caving this week. I am glad this light can survive the nature so well. I guess i will crack it open tonight. Thanks again guys.
