You know what? I think I\'m content.

Dear me, do I have enough lights? It certainly seems so. For EDC, an Arc AAA for the pocket, and an ST 7 LED ProPolymer in the tote bag. Otherwise, an ST 10 ProPolymer on the nightstand, an X5T in the car glove box, a PT Attitude for everything else, and an Arc LS-123(2nd) for "small wow factor" and an LGI for "beat this with yer hunkin' big MagLight".

I am content.

Until ST produces the all-LED version of the Syclone, of course.

ST? You mean Streamlight?

BTW, is the 4AA LED propolymer nice? I was thinking about getting one.

Re: You know what? I think I\'m content.

Content huh? Have you reviewed the page for the new EliteMax from Eternalight? I told myself I was content too. I didn't need to look, I had my Ergo, it couldn't be that much better.

Then he offered CPF members $30 off and free shipping for all orders recieved by 3-31. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

I went to the page just to uh... see what uh, I wasn't going to buy because "I don't need another light"... and besides I was saving for an ARC Premium and ... oooooh, mode memory ...brass reinforced standard stainless screws in a polycarbonate case...configurable power regulation...Configuration mode...Nightbeacon.... longer life AND its brighter than my Ergo...

Hello, my name is MichganMan, and I'm a flashaholic. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif

Hello RossB,

Isn't the phrase "I am content" banned from this forum???

I thought "I am content" and the CPF were pretty much mutually exclusive... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: You know what? I think I\'m content.

Apologies. I should have said "My current collection is adequate until another gotta-have-one comes along."

Better?

FreeDSBboy - the Streamlight (ST) 7LED 4AA is a very nice light indeed. You can buy two or three of them for less than the unobtanium Luxeons from Arc and Surefire - and the difference in useful light isn't all that much. On the other hand, the little single 123 battery Luxeons have impressive output for the size, when the batteries are fresh.

That was about where I was. I was content with my collection until MrBulk announced another small LGI build. Now I am awaiting shipment of what will be my brightest LS.

Re: You know what? I think I\'m content.

I'll be there when the highly anticipated McLux comes. And the FreeLight that's on its way. And I'll want a CMG Sonic (just for fun). I probably should get another Opalec Gaglite for the glove box of the car. And don't forget the . . . .

After those, I'll be content. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Damn you MichiganMan! I stop in for 2 minutes to see what I'm missing, I'm intrigued by your post, and am on the phone ordering the light now.

See? I told you, its that page! Throw in today being the deadline and we're just not to held liable for our actions.

Re: You know what? I think I\'m content.

Hello hello,

Couple newbie questions:

*what's an LGI?

*is there a thread/webpage/etc explaining why I would need the Eternalight? It looks very strange and bulky and expensive and not like any other flashlight I've seen.

Thanks!

Re: You know what? I think I\'m content.

Hi Lars,
the LGI is the "long gun illuminator", a mod made by Mr Bulk. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
It is a Brinkmann Legend 3AA flashlight, modded with a 1W Luxeon, and very bright. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The Eternalights are famous for their uC controlled modes, and are well made, with a host of functions. Just do a search on them and you will soon find out why some people like them so much...

Hope this helps,

Re: You know what? I think I\'m content.

Thanks a lot Bart, it helped!

...though I can't say that I'm convinced of the greatness of the Eternalights

But hey, give me a few days... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Check out the eternaLight details and the different models made. Randy at his "Darkgear" website carries them and runs sales here & there.

Don't get me started, I own 9 and have another Max and 3 Derringers on the way! Start out with the basic Ergo 3 to check it out (I've seen them for as low as $25-$28 new - someone just sold one here for $20, keep your eyes open and snatch one before I get to it!). It's not really bulky at all, more of a pager style. The new Derringers are even smaller! I use them at work, home, the cars, my family either all have one or will be getting one "sooner" than later...Ok - I'm a believer!!

Re: You know what? I think I\'m content.

Thanks Sigman. 9(nine)?!?

Oh...

But I might admit the format is interesting, very unorthodox. Looks like it could be stuffed almost anywhere which is a big advantage. And yes, I realize I checked out the newest most expensive model (the EliteMax) and that there are cheaper ones available.

Hmm, hmm...

It might just make it to my shortlist, after all....though there are at least four flashlights with higher priority.

But I have just started so...

Re: You know what? I think I\'m content.

I was going to say that I am content, but, no!!

I am patiently waiting for my McLux (take your time skunkworks, do a GREAT JOB!), and for the Micro Illuminator (I love my ARC AAA, but a LS on my keychain!!! Yaowza!)

I want a WIDE, Broad, bright 5 watt LS (like a Legend LX or Streamlight non turbo) light for walking.

I want to mount 2 Streamlight 4AA, 7 LED's to my hard hat.
