I am looking to buy my next light and have no idea what i want, So i thought i would let you guys help me pick.....What is your favorite flashlight and why?

6P, bored to 18mm. With various drop ins its been a very reliable tool for the past ~2-3 years. My fave drop ins are the DX-MCE and more recently an M60.

Right now is my Jetbeam RRT-0, but I have an old Streamlight 2L3W that I keep in the car for an emergency and I find myself using the Streamlight very often since it has been reliable with an easy access side switch, low & high mode, and lanyard.

I love my Swissbianco EX10 and D10 more than anything. The size/runtime/output is in such great balance. I also upgraded the light engines to the neutral SP version for better color temperature (I miss the ramping UI though :thumbsdow). I have to say, it will be hard to top these custom beauties for EDC.

Currently my favourite is my Quark AA R2 tactical head with a Turbo 2x123 body and Tactical switch with Nitecore D10 clip screwed to it. Running a 17670 battery. It has a great solid feel in the hand and fits my top pocket perfectly. I just wish the hotspot was smaller and more sharp.

My favorite is my Fenix TK40. It has the most perfect beam pattern for my use and it's plenty bright enough as well. It's a perfect mix of flood and throw while not being in either camp. It just feels right in my hand because it's not too big yet overpowers any lights that are the same size or even larger. Last but certainly not least, it takes AA batteries of which I have plenty. It certainly was not the cheapest light out there but I don't regret buying it at all after all these months of using it.

Malkoff MD3 Wildcat in warm white - perfect beam, great tint, over 400 lumens, won't overheat, low beam is not too bright, simple UI, reliable, run time over 60 minutes on high, good ergonomics, takes 18500 (18650 in MD4 body), Lego options with 2/3/4 cell bodies, outstanding warranty (blown up with C4? no problem.)
The only thing I would like more is even better tint (as close to sunlight/blackbody as possible) and better efficiency. I'm watching for the warm white XPG version :-).

A little smaller and easier to obtain: Malkoff MD2 with M60W or M60WF and hi-lo ring. Run time over 90 minutes on high. Haven't seen tint of M61 in real life yet, but will certainly buy warm white M61 when the warm white XPGs become available.

I'll second what Burgess said. Kind of works that way for me. Wait for that light that really tweaks your fancy or you'll end up with a drawer full of orphans. Believe me, I know.

jetbeam lll M (warm tint) - beautiful beam, beautiful tint, beautiful design, tailstands, good solid feel.

Jetbeam RRT-0 - small, bright, selector ring, gorgeous design. (current edc)

quark 123-2 R5 - nice wide spill, and hotspot, very bright, very compact.

zebralight h501w - tiny single AA light. smooth wide flood beam. great interface, useful in many ways different than a traditional flashlight.

Muyshondt Aeon, iTP A3 EOS or the QMini's for keychains.

Move on upto the TK11, the RRT-0, RRT-2 and MG PLI.

Then the Catapult, EagleTac M2X and the TK40 for my favorite big torches.

My Favorites are my MTE P7 Light with Shiningbeam 3-Mode Driver and my Akoray with XP-G R5, because i know, if i drop them (which happened already a lot of times on my mte light), then it's cheap to replace them, so i don't need to take big care of.
I also love my ElectronGuru TankLight (aka FM 26500 Host with M2 Bezel) and my Novatac 120E or Ra Clicky, but they are to expensive to get beaten up, even if they could take a serious beating.

My favorite is currently my SureFire A2 Aviator and has been for a while now (my SF LX2 would probably be a close second though). I love having instant access to either a floody LED low beam or a bright, white, fully regulated incandescent high beam! :)

My fav is the Titanium MiNiAA (for shelf queen)

For Actual EDC is my Quark MiNi AA Neutral, Its basic for my everyday use and pumps up enough light even on outdoors usage.
The best part is it cost less than $40.:wave:

I'm new to the flashlight obsession, but in the past month I've accumulated a Thrunite Catapult, JetBeam RRT-0, Nitecore Extreme, Quark AA, and JetBeam RRT-1. Hmmm, that's about one per week... I may have a problem :D

I was fortunate enough to get the "version 2.0" of the Catapult and RRT-0 and managed to avoid some of the teething problems I read about here.

Just realized I subconciously "ranked" them in my list -- all are far better than anything I've had in the past, but the Catapult is easily my favorite. It gets used every day, and I appreciate it more each time. The RRT-0 barely edges out the Extreme for EDC status. I have Peak El Capitan on order, however, so that may change!

I agree, Nitrolon definitely feels great in the hand. I've found myself to be slowly purchasing more and more SF Nitrolon lights for this very reason!
