Fishing season is fast approaching and I often stay at a hotel that means crossing an unlit and busy country road at night (to get to and from the pub.... 🍺😁). I've been using my trusty SC600W II L2 up to this point but could always do with an excuse to buy a new toy.... The light will be used in short bursts for a couple of minutes max.
My daily carry is an SC52w L2 so I'm very comfortable with the ZL UI. I found the SC700Fd is still available and puts out nearly 3k lumens, so a significant increase on the SC600 and not a lot of weight or size gain.
Given the use case, I'd be interested in folks thoughts on the ZL vs a custom light with a tri/quad emitter (preferably a rechargeable model to keep costs down)..
