Any info to mod Photon Microlight II?

Has anyone ever modded their photon light?? Such as just upgrading the LED? Where can i find information? I've already done a search. Its a great handy light to have on keychain, wish it was a bit brighter!

Any suggestions on which LED to replace the old one with? THANKS!

pretty easy to put in one of my Snow 29 LEDs, or Grumpy's Nichia CS's, or the 35K LEDs - look in the group buy section.

though... if it is the "new 100% brighter" photon light it already has a nichia CS in it.

Simplest mod is just change the led. The leads have to be bent and formed in a slghtly weird way, no big deal, just bend up the new one so it looks like the old one. Another simple mod involves putting vaseline around the inside of the seam and on the switch slider. It's supposed to help keep out water, but sounds a little messy. The original mod of course was to replace the CR2032 battery with two CR2016's, making the light a heck of a lot brighter. Yes, that was first done by modders, on the LRI bulletin board. Of course all those lights are shipped that way now.
