Should I mod my Terralux?

Would there be any benefit to modding my Terralux minimag drop-in? I got some RV1G 1W stars that have a nice low Vf (2.79-3.03).

What would happen if I put this onto the terralux? Any other good ideas for mods with these?

Where did you get the RV1G's? I've been looking for something in that tint/range...

Is this a new terralux, or an older one?

This is an old one I think (it has a side emitter on it...)

I have enough of the RV1G's that I can sell some here if anyone wants them. Send me a PM if interested.

If it is one that looks like these, then it appears that it would be a fairly simple swap depending on how the emitter is attached to the board.

I have done something similar in the past in my Dummy Reference Guide to Minimag mod (see section 3b), and the lux III(J bin) seems to be working quite ok with the mod. I assumed the (G bin) might be a little overdriving it, but it should be ok to do.

The swapping on mine was quite easy, only grease under sink of the side emitter. One friendly advice, just make sure to remember the polarity before removing the lux.
