What size bulb for a 8 cell light

Hi all. I was going to modify a 2 cell d battery flashlight to hold 8 AA batterys. Anyways, I figured that a 9.6v krypton bulb would be the perfect match. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

A krypton bulb for a 7-cell flashlight would be pretty good overdriven slightly. KPR20, I think. Mag sells them for their old 7 D/C models.

I've use the stock Mag 6 cell bulb with 8 consumer grade NiMh cells just playing around. It worked out pretty well but I never used it long enough to see how dependable it would be in the long run, YMMV.

when i get my 8AA-2D adapter, the first bulb i will try will be my Mag Whitestar 6-cell bulb.
