Anyone try the new KL3 on a 1 cell body?

Wouldn't you have to get an adapter to make it fit on a e series?
The KL1 is for the E series, and the KL3 is for the G2, 6P, M2 and so forth.
It might work if you had a old 3P and a Li-ion battery though.

Here you go...KL3 head+E2C+Aleph 1x123 body+15 ohm McE2S 2-stage tailcap+3.7V, 750mAh protected R123A

One primary CR123A can work, just not as bright as 3.7V R123A did.

Oh I see what youre saying. I didn't see that it was a 3.7v.....

Now I'm wondering if it will run off of 2 protected 3.7v. It supposedly will run off of 3 primary cells, so it should work. Am I correct?

My previous runtime post is using one 3.7V proteted R123A, one primary cell or 3.0V R123A can work, but the voltage are not enough for KL3, you will only get 1300 lux at 1m...
followed plot is the comparision with 1 or 2 3.7V R123A

Dang, can't get much better regulation than that! The runtime seems about an hour shorter than with primary cells. I wonder why? I was thinking the runtime would be longer with the rechargeables.

They have to ad components to make safer then Bare batteries.Protection devices.

The electronics required take up room on either end of the cell, seen through the shrink warp as dicss on the outside.

My 750Mah, are about half capacity of a normal primary battery, but at a slightly higher output of voltage.

The KL3 II is known to have super flat regulation, so what's its performance when driven by three prime cells? Anyone has the runtime graph of the KL3 on 3 123As?

The KL3 is too big to be carried in a trouser pocket so I'll most likely get the KL1 II, but now I'm torn between getting a 2-cell or 3-cell body. I know these down-driven 1.5W heads aren't super bright so I'd probably want longer runtime to compensate that. Should I prefer longer runtime to better portability, or the other way round? Again, anyone has the runtime graph of the KL1 II on 3 123As?

Thanks and kindly advise.

I was thinking about doing that a few months ago, but I dont like the length.
