used 4 nichia 5600 and 4 nimh aa cells
no resistors needed.has a diffuser in center of lens.nice flood light.easy and cheap.
looks like a 1 d cell light.got it for $.25 at a yard sale.
homebrewers take note!

Here are some ??'s off the top of my head...

it is a pr type bulb.
used a soldering iron to enlarge the hole in the reflector and trimmed it up with an exacto knife.the hole is a clover leaf shape to let the 4 leds fit.just make sure the flange does not go through.the bulb retainer is a twist 1/4 turn to lock. current is 350ma with freshly charged batts.this bbs does not allow attachments or i do not know how to include one.maybe i can take some pics and put them up on a binaries group.i will make a test target and get the pics when i get the time.
the beam is more a flood type with some minor rings in it.

As for pics, you can't upload to the BB. You have to put the picture somewhere on the web that is link-able (homepage, Yahoo photos, etc...).
When you look at the "Reply" page, the last button on the right allows you to put in the URL where the pic is.

Otherwise, just post them somewhere and tell us the link in your message.
