CMG version was discontinued (tho there are a few floating around that are CMG designs with the Gerber brand on it as they were mfr'd during the transitional period when Gerber bought CMG). My experience has only been with the latest Gerber IUs and they seem to be considerably brighter than any previous versions. Mine surprised me when I got them and I love these little lights now.
I wonder if the difference in performance is due to a better LED. I put a Nichia CS in my CMG Ultra-G and was impressed with the output, but I don't have a GIU to compare it with. I'd also like to know if the runtime and efficiency is the same. Does anyone know if Gerber is using the same circuit?
