This is a McLux PR-T head built with a DownBoy 917mA converter, and TWOJ LuxIII emitter on a Vital Gear FB2 body. The PR-T head and body are in pristine condition and was one of my shelf queen lights that I would just pick up and admire every once in awhile. I'm not sure what else to say other than its bright, has nice color tint, and well...the PR-T heads are just plain awesome! I honestly think that this is one of the best things Don has ever made. The 27mm reflector and the LuxIII were just meant to be. I'm going to stop my rambling now, since I might talk myself out of selling it.

Asking: $205 shipped via Second day air (US only) **SOLD**

PayPal address is, [email protected]
Will ship anywhere in the continental US. No PO Box address please.
I will PM or Email the tracking number upon purchase.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for looking,
-Matt

The bezel appears blue in the pictures, is it blueish or is it normal HA-III Nat?

I had a PRT a few months back and the color is grey-ish, absolutely no blue.

If i may chime in:

This head uses the McR27 reflector and gives insane throw for the size.
It also gives some decent side spill and is one of my favorite reflectors.

There should be some comparison beamshots in the McGizmo forum.

Re: FS: McLux PR-T HAIII-NAT DB917

I have an identical light (mine's a TWOK DB917), otherwise I'd have jumped on this already.
The HA is more grayish than the Aleph, SF, or FB2, similar to TnC lights.

I'm with Benny - the beam is a great combination of throw and spill, nearly ideal for my taste. The head is more svelte as well, trim and tidy.

With the run on Aleph 1s lately, I'm surprised this hasn't been snapped up yet as it's pretty much interchangeable. Maybe it's because of the FB2 instead of an Aleph body, but the FB2 is about as compact as you can get for a 2 X 123.

A great look for it is on a Maxlite body. The lines flow nicely and the HA matches better, as long as you can find a 14500 or 2 X 14250 Li-ions that work in the Maxlite tube.

And Matt is a great guy to deal with, no worries there at all.

Matt, is the LE epoxied in or unscrewable? That might cinch it for me, mine's epoxied and I'd really like to play mix 'n match with other LEs.

Re: FS: McLux PR-T HAIII-NAT DB917

Hi All,

Sorry to get back so late. I will try to answer all questions.

X Racer - The color in definitely Natural, and not blue. My camera dose a poor job of taking close-ups, so the color is not represented well at all.
like others have mentioned, the head is on the gray-ish side, and the bezel is green-ish. I'm, pretty sure all of the PR-T heads were like this.
It dose look a lot better in person.

Fringe - The beam has a smaller hot-spot and throws like crazy. There is some spill, but not what I would consider ideal for close-up use.

LED - Thanks for the boast. You're a great and generous guy yourself! As for the light-engine or E-can, If I remember, I thermo epoxy it in. So im not sure how hard it would be to remove. I would say it could be removed, but not without marring the e-can up.

Let me know if there are anymore questions.

Thanks,
-Matt

You`re going to like this PR-T alot. I have *several* :p , and they represent some of Don`s best work, IMHO.

What Benny said!

This head uses the McR27 reflector and gives insane throw for the size.
It also gives some decent side spill and is one of my favorite reflectors.

The L4, in comparison, has a much "floodier" beam. The light you`re getting is one of the best "throw" lights around.

Enjoy!

:)
