So this is a new development I just noticed, added to this store just this week: http://www.qualitychinagoods.com/1x18650-flashlight-recommended-p-466.html

Judging from the image and description, it appears to be the same as this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...ryProximity&refwidgettype=cross_promot_widget

18650 tube, "K2" LED that may or may not be authentic, and reflector, lens, and switch of unknown quality. Two modes, 1w and serious overdrive 8w. I don't know if anyone ever figured out exactly WHO makes these chinese clones, but this appears to be the latest.

What interests me is that you can get it for $28 at the store above, and a DSD charger is $8 at the same store, and shipping is included in these prices. It should be pretty easy to live up to $28 of expectations.... in the name of science we need a review of this sucker!!! :) Unfortunately for me I'm half tempted to do it myself! :awman::lolsign:

No mention of "K2" LED at Dae's site.

It's been around for while here at $21.50 shipped:

It is just another Golston clone..this one is slightly less appealing because of it's build quality than the original Golston.

I made the K2 deduction because it's new to both this guy on ebay and this store, and the one on ebay says K2.

Here's part of the review of that very light you linked: http://contents.fifthunit.com/html/reviews.5th/review.001_3.html

18) KENBAR - 8 Watts LED, 1x18650 (3.6V) or 2 x CR123A (3.0V non-rechargeable), Dual mode flashlight

It feels good and solid on my hand. It flashlight features a convenient dual power mode option to save power when needed. The body is made in China and it uses bulb provided from the States. The built on this flashlight is awesome and its weight is just right for a flashlight like this, with 18650 battery inserted.

Bravo! This KENBAR 8W flashlight is a proven serious performer with top node light output. It provides whopping 70 lumens with a single 18650 3.6V (4.0V when fully charged) or even more crazy 95 lumens with two 3.0V non-rechargeable CR123A batteries. The white light produced by the LED is a high color temperature and produces good color rendition. There is no noticeable tint in the light color. One of the character of this flashlight is its extreme tight and bright center beam, which explains the relative high throw number. On the other hand, there is surprising a lot of side spill light to see the ground when you point the beam forward. I found it such a joy to use such a flashlight with such extreme tight center beam. The side spill is not visible in the beam picture above as they are a lot dimmer than the center beam. After all, although the performance from using CR123A on this flashlight looks attractive, I don't recommend you always use the CR123A batteries on this flashlight, as I feel it's somewhat overdriving the flashlight.

The good news is that oldish review is positive and sounds like a LuxIII to me -- so a K2 version would be even better.
