Got bored...

I was bored at work last night and looking at my new MiniMag AA wondering what I was going to do to it, when I thought.. "I'll make a map light out of it to keep with my backpacking gear."

I had 3 LEDs from my SureFire A2 that I just changed out, so I stuck on in and it works great. Ran it for a few hours to see if it will blow, but so far so good.

All I had to do was open the hole on the top plate and in the reflector a bit and stick the LED in the pins. It's changeable with the white bulb in the tail cap if I need it also. Does not move when I banged the light on the table either.

Nothing new I'm sure, but thought I would share.

I did the same mod on my MM using a red LED from an optical mouse which had stopped working. It works great and makes a good night vision preserving map light.
