I like to upgrade my 3D & 2AA Maglites to powerful LED flashlights. There are a number of replacement LEDs available I found on Ebay or flashlightreviews, but which is the one to pick?
Reliability, ease of upgrade (plug & play), value for money and ultimately significant brightness improvement.
I came across Diamond LED, which claims excellence and such.

Anyone here please help me with some pointers. Should I do it?
Much appreciated.

Get a MagLED 3-cell replacement module for the 3D Mag (retail department stores). Get a Terralux MiniSTAR2-TLE5 high-dome for the Minimag (led-replacement.com).

I got the Diamonds before Mag had one out.
Today just get the Mag module. A lot cheaper for the same effect.
If you can change a bulb, you can upgrade.
Check out the suppliers listed here.
several with great prices and service.

Following up on TigerhawkT3's suggestion for the Terralux MiniSTAR2-TLE5 high-dome for the Minimag at led-replacement.com, if you are going to order from there, I would get a TerraLUX MaxStar3 DB-3W 3 Watt for the 3D mag in the same order.

In response to the question "Should I do it?", if you like your Mags and want to make them LED, yup. But keep in mind, for the price of the upgrade bulbs, you can buy brand new LED lights, there are lots of options out there depending on what you want.
