The first set of batteries in my Surefire C2 died because the firm switch with short travel bumped up against something in my pocket, after I hung up my pants on a chair. At the end of the weekend, I almost went to work with a dead flashlight.

Since then, I prefer a softer switch like on my Streamlight TL-2 LED. I've backed the switch out to create long travel before the light comes on.

I like the soft switches with short travel and besides it just doesn't sound right if I say I like them long and firm???

Sorry, poor humor and in bad taste.

I like the Mag style switch, the tail cap switch is OK, but I find the ease of use and ergonomics of a side mounted switch as well..
Does that count?
As far as my "tactical" switches go, I like the ability to set the amount of pressure required by tightening or loosening the cap, but that can be a bad thing in weather with high temperature fluctuations..
We are talking about the same thing, right?
