I have a Dorcey Super 1 watt 3 D flashlight. It has long throw because of the very deep reflector and I was wondering if it would be a good candidate for a Cree XR-E mod.
Wouldn't the deep reflector help focus the Cree?

If someone ever does this mod let us know. I would really like to know the results. Then you can mod mine if it works :grin2: .

Now that is an awesome light already, I wouldn't be able to get myself to tear one if those apart (if I had the ability)...Unless I had more than one and got them dirt cheap.

I have to admit, I have been thinking the same thing....... All I need to do is figure out how to mount my emitter in it. I should have bought stars instead!:ohgeez:

Is the reflector deeper than a mag c/d reflector? Because those don't work well. :(

the reflector of the dorcy 3D is parabolic while mags are standard:ohgeez:

i dunno about cree but as far as the 1 watt in there its intended for throw, theres minimal, but usable spill....i dont know how a cree would function...

The reflector is twice as deep as a Mag reflector.
