I left my Hotshot on all last night so it'd run completely down. It definately has a tiny rechargeable battery of some sort instead of a capacitor. It took a lot of shaking before it'd light up.

I have a metal lathe and some hunks of 6061-T6 aluminum, which polishes to a nice shine.

Space available for a reflector is a cylindrical volume approx 21.2mm high by 22.4mm diameter with a single 5mm LED at bottom center.

Trapped between the LED and bottom of the space is a reflective disk, probably .5mm thick, maybe less. Can't get the depth rod of my digital caliper past its edge.

The lens appears to be spherical shape, flat on the LED side, 5.81mm thick by 22.2mm diameter of the curved part. The flat rim extends to 29.2mm.

I'm still thinking about swapping in one of the BHK LEDs, if I decide to unsolder the original one to see what's on the other side of the PCB.

For right now, a reflector that redirects every possible photon forwards will be a nice addition.
