I have been in the market for an E2D for some time and found a reasonably priced head assembly. I found this thread (http://candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=64308) which is a list of E-series compatible parts, but are there others to know about?

I did locate the Sandwich Shoppe and found the Aleph parts, a lot of which seem to be e-compatible, but as a total newb to this sort of thing, I am clueless.

My initial plan is to do this:
- E2D head
- Aleph 1x123 power pack (although will one CR123 power the E2D head?)
- MCTC tailcap and boot with MCS switch

Do I need to use a 2x123 power pack?

Thanks in advance!

If you go with a one-cell body, you'll have to use the lamp assembly for the E1E (I think it's the mn01) which is only rated at 15 lumens.

The MN02 lamp that is standard in the E2D requires 6V, IIRC, so yes, the standard E2D head requires a 2X123 body. But, as stated above, you can replace the MN02 in the E2D bezel with the 15 lumen MN01 lamp and use that head on a 1X123 body. Or you could replace the lamp with the Lumens Factory HO-E1A (3V, 40 Lumens as rated by LF) lamp assembly and use that on a 1X123 body.

The correct lamp for the stock E2D is the MN03
High output rated at 60 lumens. You could use the
Lumens Factory lamps with a 1 cell body.
