Hey there CPF members,

Has anyone here on the CPF heard anything about the release of the new Lithium Glo-Toob? I know that it has been postponed several times now and I did hear from Glo-Toob itself (via email back in March) that they were expecting a May 2007 release date.

Does anyone have any further info on what the new version's qualities may be? I saw that it will have eleven functions as compared to the seven of the FX7, and what looks like a larger body size with new top caps, and a longer battery life. Are there any pics available of this model other than the ones shown on the official Glo-Toob website? If so, please post them here.

Take care,

I emailed them on 4/27 about the release date and received this reply this morning....

Hi Dave
The Glo-toob Lithium will be out at some time around the middle of the year.
We have delayed the release, due to the high demand and hence manufacture structure issues. In order to bring you the best product we can, and bring it to everyone who wants one, we have pushed the release back to around July this year.
Please be patient, it will be worth it!
Thanks for your time and interest, if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask..
Regards
The Glo-toob Guys.

Wow, how many months has this been pushed back now? I just wish they would come out with it already!

I too was waiting for the lithium version but picked up an amber FX model from Lighthound. Guess I'll buy another one this coming summer.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGHHH!

Bummer on the delayed release date ... I hope that they pass on a sizable discount to everyone (i.e. CPF and EDC forum members) who have been waiting so patiently on this release. I wonder what the production issues are.

My sincere thanks goes out to everyone who has replied to this thread.

Take care everyone,

Same here. I emailed them 4/24 and never got a reply. I really dislike that little A23 battery for some reason. Hopefully the changes will be worth the wait.

BTW ... Anyone want to speculate on the additional 4 modes (for a total of 11) that are scheduled to be added on the Lithium Glo-Toob as compared to the current 7 that are available on the FX7? Thanks, watts242. :)

The current FX7 Modes are:

01. EQUAL FLASH: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
02. BEACON STROBE: .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..
03. SLOW STROBE: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
04. S.O.S. MODE: ..._ _ _... ..._ _ _... ..._ _ _...
05. THROB MODE: ---------------------------------------------
06. 100% CONSTANT ON: --------------------------------
07. 25% CONSTANT ON: ----------------------------------------------------------

08. ? Take a guess.
09. ? Take a guess.
10. ? Take a guess.
11. ? Take a guess.

Is the A23 / MN21 battery it uses only available as alkaline - i.e. are there any lithium (ion) or NiMH rechargeable equivalents?

Pellidon and dca2,

Oh man ... you guys have me in tears. I loved the "Spanish Inquisition" mode suggestion and the "bazooka" mode pic. Very funny.

I've only ever seen alkaline, which is why they're going to manufacture a lithion light..........eventually.
