With all the pros here on CPF I'm sure I'll it will help me choosing my first true flashlight.

What I am looking for:
LED (Cree look amazing)
2 x CR123A (I'll buy rechageable ones + charger)
Variable outputs ("Low" for long time running and "high/turbo" for long range)
150 lumens minimum (well... I want a large amount of light)
Solid feel
Equal or below $100 CAD (including shipping)

The first that came into my mind is the Fenix P3D-CE.

What about other models ?
What I have to know about CR123A cells ? Pros/Cons ?

Thank you all people of CDF for yout professionalism !

If you included good circuit efficiency in your criteria, it would be the P3D, period. If you can tolerate lower circuit efficiency, you can save some money with one of the Kai/DX U2 clones such as this or this.

I'm looking for a similar light, but not so compact as the P3D. I would like one for camping that has great throw. And a large reflector like the model shown below.

So two questions. Does such a light exist for under $100? And is there an LED light that takes 4 CR123A batteries?

Well... after some days of reflexion... I'm not so sure about the P3D-CE because of the reverse clicky.

I would like to have a light that push about 100 lumens+ (the P3D-CE got an amazing amount of lumens... but reverse clicky :()
Forward clicky !!!

I'm thinking about the Surefire L5 when it will be available equiped with Cree.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks !
