Any word on whether or not SF plans on producing cree edition M4's or even M3's? I really love the look of those lights....

You can get an M4 and drop in one of those Arcmania 5w tower modules or some of the newer Cree or SSC tower modules. Run on 2 x 17670 or 4 x CR123as. Good thing is you can switch back to incan anytime too

I'm not familiar with those could you link in the right direction; a cree in that should make a for a pretty bright/long running light eh?

Not sure whether the blank modules are still available but they do appear in the B/S/T here and there in the various flavours; the 5w luxeon and sometimes a Seoul or Cree. Their runtime depends on the converter that is used; from what I know, most of the 5w modules use a 1A driver, so you can estimate the runtime on that.
If you choose to build your own and use a lower drive current converter, then you can get 3-4 hours runtime, no problem
