Howdy zillaq, and welcome to CPF,
Thanks for posting that. It looks like a nice little light. According to the one review on the site it will illuminate tree branches at 40-50 feet, so I'm guessing this is not really putting out 120 lumens (at least not out the front of the light). I'd wager this light is using a an older Luxeon LED.

If you are looking for new light, you are in the right place. The newest generation of LED lights are using Cree, Seoul, or possibly Rebel LEDs, which are quite a bit brighter and more efficient.

Besides the wonderful treasure trove of information to be found here on CPF, here are a few flashlight review and information sites that you might find interesting:

:welcome:

I've seen that light a few months back, before the Crees came out.

I don't think it would be anywhere close to 120 lumen out the front. I think they are using maximum LED lumens. I'd much rather spend a bit more on a light like this that I know has at least 100 lumen out the front(mostly thanks to the twice as efficient LED). The linked light will project 100 yards, but it runs on a special rechargeable battery(18650 3.7v Li-ion).

Thanks! I have been reading this forum extensively and decided to post a question. I love LED flashlights. Its amazing how far LEDs have come in a short while.

Actually its not too good to be true. Lowe's and Rayovac have new "C" cell lights using SSC or Cree LEDs, with similar outputs.

Here's the thread for he Lowe's light: https://www.candlepowerforums.com/threads/175576

I think there's a separate thread for the Rayovac light floating around somewhere.

But I especially like that Northern Tool Light since its basically a bigger version of the SureFire E2D Defender.
