Here are more interesting addition to your favorite E series.
These bodies are designed to use with single (protected) 18500 Li-Ion batteries to make your $urefire smaller and more usefull.
Body is slightly fatter than original but considerably shorter with more aggressive knurling and 2 flat sides.
Basicaly, you won't loose much capacity but save more space and pocket friendly. Completly hard anodize to match as close as possible to natural HA
Comes with installed (head side) O'ring, forward clickie/momentary switch and switch seal.
Simply instal the original head (and lamp assembly) on loaded 18500 body and ready to go. Allways reversable and you keep original body new and scratch free.
Excellent choice when used with Strion kit.
Price $32
Extra replacement switch $4
Extra replacement switch seal $1
Shipping to States $3
Internationaly $5
Free shipping if paid by postal money order.
Please pick next available and valid number, post it here and paypal note.

Can you elaborate on the switch? Is it easily replaceable? Is it a McClicky? It is fairly watertight? Does the head have an o-ring (its hard to see from the pic)?

Looks like the head has a groove for the o-ring, but I'd like add'l info on the switch as well. Is it possible to put in a two-stage switch?

I have used SL Scorpion switch with MC switch seal.
Both items are easily available everywhere at very reasonable price and I have added some extra if anyone interested to have spare one.
It is more than waterproof at least at tail side. I placed tail side of flashlight half the body in glass of water for an hour and no sign of moisture inside. However, don't take it as submersable but yes it is waterproof.
An O'ring at head side comes with body and you don't even need to transfer from original body.

I have no information about possibility of installing two stage switch. If it's possible for SL Scorpion, then will be doable on these body as well.

Hopefully my final question. The finish mentioned was HA NAT, however the pic looks a bit more black than NAT. I just want to confirm that the tubes are HA NAT and that the color variation in the pics is due to camera issues...

There are always color variation on natural hard anodized parts and that's because of difference in alloy and other factors. Picture may not show correctly but my E2e body has different color tone than head. Body is grayish and head is more greenish. This apply on my M6 too. See color of tail cap and body here.

Received the 18500 body today.
Very well made.
I like the aggressive knurling and the compact size.

Thanks fivemega!

I hope this is not a stupid question, but I was under the impression that
the width of an "18" li-ion meant that it was not possible to make threads
of the right size for an E-head without compromising the thickness.

ie. others have made a separate adaptor piece to screw into the threads
at the top of the body and also into the threads of the E-size head.

How is it that you have managed to avoid doing this?

Easilyled,
the inner diameter of the body is 18,8 mm.
The body under the thread is thin, but its ok.
The thread moves smooth.

Would it be considered to be a point of weakness due to it being so thin?

In other words, is there a possiblity that being dropped on to concrete
from a height could result in the threads shearing off?
