Any opinions on this light?

Hi All,
I couldn't find any reviews on it. Here's a link. The reason I ask is I bought it on sale for $105. I'd like to know if I'll regret my purchase before it arrives ;) Good news is the store I bought it from has a great return policy.

Thanks for any thoughts.

It's the first one in the list. (198 lumens, strobe, low, high)

I'd say 70-80 lumens is probably a better estimate than the 198 lumens they advertise. I really can't say much else, since there's very little information on the page.

:welcome: , by the way.

Howdy cruzmisl, and welcome to CPF,
You might do a search of CPF, as I remember seeing this light discussed when it first came out.

It will probably be a nice light, however, with a bit of research I think you might be able to find any number of comparable lights, some with even more output, available thru dealers here on CPF that might cost even less.

Just to get you started, here are some of my favorite flashlight review sites:

http://www.lightreviews.info/
http://www.flashlightreviews.com/features/buyers_guide.htm
http://www.cpfreviews.com/
http://flashlightnews.org/
http://ledmuseum.home.att.net/

and of course, the review area right here on CPF. I'd pay particular attention to Dereelight, Wolf-Eyes, Fenix, LumaPower, and Olight brands.

Don't worry about necessarily sending your new Brite Strike back, most CPF members own at least 2 lights.

Wow, 70-80 lumens? Seems like a huge disparity especially if they advertise more than twice that. We'll see what it's like when it arrives. I need something with high output and similar construction. If you have any other brands I should lok at let me know.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

There's a big difference between emitter lumens and lumens out the end. Surefire rates their lights out the end, most others rate it at the emitter. That's why Surefire lights seem brighter.

Oh OK, interesting. I'll inquire how they measure. They never specified. New to the LED buying market. Is there an FAQ on how to buy? Things to look for?
Thanks!!

Look at some of the Fenix lights for comparison. I know SureFires tend to set the standard, but I am liking what I read about the Fenix models. They are priced more reasonably for what you get, and are well built. For brightness, the CREE Q5 LEDs are also excellent.

Terrible sorry to disapoint anyone, but IMHO Britestrike looks more or less like a scam. They have been mentioned a couple of time before on CPF, and every time the lights mentioned have been rebadged Nuwai lights. Looks like they are just selling Nuwail lights but for 2-4 times their original price... :thumbsdow
People see the high price tag and think these must be exceptional lights. Not that Nuwai makes bad lights, but if people realized that they are paying 200USD for a light that they maybe can buy for 50USD (taking figures out of the air now, but Nuwai has never made very expencive lights), they wouldnt be too pleased.

If someone has any info that theese are not rebadged Nuwais, I would appreciate it. But I doubt that they arent, since almost every single light they have has an almost identical Nuwai counterpart.

Their course looks somewhat comical. More like flash, bash, dash and thanks for handing over your cash!

They deifnately look identical to Nuwai lights.

I agree their sales pitch is lame. After doing a lot of research on the forum (which I found after I ordered), I realized there are some kick @ss lights out there.

I have since narrowed my choices down to a modified Gladius or the Tiablo A9. The modded Gladius seems to get great reviews. While a lot more money than I originally wanted to spend if it is durable and reliable who cares. I can't afford to have it fail. Besides the Gladius has a great carrying case for $20 too.

My only question is the modded Gladius has 160 lumens while the Tiablo has 250 lumens. I'm just not sure if the Tiablo is measured at the LED or is the actual light output.......

Thanks again!!!
