I have a couple of the MTE C2 single mode SSC-P4 torches and one with a Rebel and I love them! I've given a few away as gifts as well and they loved them too.

I would think the multi-mode units would be even more useful. Great for the price! ;)

I got the C2 70602 5-stage light for a friend and it's his most used light. High is very bright, comparable to much of the Cree P4-equipped 1xAA higher cost lights. The modes work well, but low could be lower, but that's a minor issue. It's quite well made and has a very nice beam.

The C3 looks very interesting, but there isn't many details about the UI, like what the output levels are and how to switch between all of them.

MTE also offers a Rebel 1xAA light that's very nice, available from Dealextreme. Overall, my experience with MTE lights have been very good. Overall mfg quality is a bit shy of the higher priced brands, but for 50% to 25% the cost of the higher priced brands, MTE lights offer an amazing value.
