This is my first post and I hope I am putting it in the right place.
I want to modify my Romisen RC-T5 4 cree flashlight so I can us it as a handle bar mounted bike light. I have read on another post of some who have wired it so all 4 leds are running in series versus 2x2. I have have some concerns running it that way because the light may be on for extended periods of time when riding. What would be a safe amperage to run this light at without modifying the heat sink other than adding some heat transfer paste? And what driver would you recommend? I will be running the light of of a 12 volt 2.3 Ah battery. Thanks.

This light right?

If you are riding with the light, the air should cool it enough.

The driver that is already in the light should be fine. It can take 4 RCR123 batteries which are 4.2v off the charger. So 4.2v * 4 = 16.8v. It should handle 12v without a problem.

If you are looking for more output, then the Shark Driver might work.

It might be better to move this thread to the Homemade and Modified lights or to the Bicycle section.
