Best 5W Beam with 30mm Optics

What form of 5W emitter (HD, LD, or SE) gives the best beam with 30mm optics? My experimentation with 1W emitters indicates that this lens works best with the LD emitter, but what about the 5w emitters?

there are no ld 5w's

and a se with any optic will result in a donkey-crap beam.

i put a optic on a SE and yes it was donkey-crap like rothrandir put it, you should only use OPTICS when you dont have a decent Relector with 5W luxeons.

As I recall, Charlie said elsewhere that the 5W HD works even better in the Mag-Lite reflector than the 5W SE. That reflector is too big for my project, but a SureFire reflector should work okay.
