Is there such a thing as a soft start toggle switch?

Is instaflash a problem with li-ion batteries the way it is with nimh?

1) yes, look for AW's soft starter and incan smart driver

2) it really depends on wich type of bulb and cells size you use

1)Soft start can also be made with an NTC of the right rating. AW's soft starter or similar circuits would work better though, no cooling time needed.

2) Depends on the bulb you are using.
