Can the E-2e handle the P-61 light assembly? (even though it is not listed on Surefires site, it should, unless it doesn't fit...

It does not fit. Entierely different assbly. Check out the www.surefire.com and go to lamps and accessories and you will see pictures that will delineate the differences. The p series lamps have the reflector integreated into the lamp assbly. whereas the e series have just a bulb and a big "flange" The reflector is part of the light body.

The E2/E2e MN03 60Lu/75min Lamp Assembly looks like this:
Please Note:
Shown is the MN01 Lamp Assembly identified by the assembly's Black colour.
The MN03 assembly is a tan/brown colour.
The P61 120Lu/20min Lamp Assembly for the likes of the M2 etc looks like this:
Please Note:
Shown is the P60 identified by "P60" on the Blue label.
The P61 can be identified by "P61" on a Purple label.
You'd think it would be vital for SureFire to have a photo of the right lamp assembly next to the right part number and information since making a mistake is likely to blow the bulb.
Anyway, you get the idea? The P61 will not fit in the E2e.
