NEED help on MCE-CREE .
i would like to design a battery box . i am using a cree MCE led, but what driver , battery should i sue. i want the maximum output and the battery should last me at least 2 hours(minimum). I need this battery pack to be portable and light and small. please advise

3x18650 in series with a boost driver (shark, maxflex). You need to be careful you don't set max. output current too high, but you should get 2 hours at max rated power with this combo.

3 18650s(2000 mAh+) or 9 NiMh AAs(2000 mAh+) along with the drivers mentioned by the above poster should work. Wire the batteries in series.

Cree's cutsheet indicates 3.9V max per emitter. Are they specifying max voltage per die or for the whole emitter? Guess it depends how the addressable dies are wired. Can anyone clarify?

2 hours will also work with "just" 2 18650.

Get a 2 18650 host light and put led, focusing device, Shark/Maxflex into.
wire led in series, of course.

The larger the head, the better. That quad-emitter will cook anything (makes too much heat)
