In the Surefire lights that are available with LED's of different color the dot on the head indicates the color of the LED.

It's just a sticky paper label. You can peel it off if you want, but if you have 2 of the same lights with different LED colors these stickers can obviously be useful.

LOL, It could have been worse. They could have told you it was a sticker quality control placed on the lights when there defective.
