I found that Duracell 223s are 2 CR123 cells in a small plastic housing easy to remove.
Some guy at the local market was trying to get rid of these NIW Duracells that expire in 2015 and 2017 for $1 a pop. They are still individually shrink wrapped and measure 3 V. He threw in one that expires in 2014, that housing was much tougher and the cells were not individually wrapped.
So I scored 20 CR123's for $9.
