Coleman offers something similar on their Exponent 123A lights. I would only rate it a "fair" for construction, ease of mounting, and quality of light output (Artifacts and must be installed carrefully to avoid damaging threads). But.....It is able to be pocket carried and / or stores easily in a backpack, waist pack, etc..... Thus it can be surprisingly useful. The Exponent 123A lights also tailstand, which makes that design a bit more useful. So, as far as portability and usefulness I'd rate teh Coleman as very good.

Now I am going to have to make one for my C3. I don't think I have the stuff on hand though...............
