Has anyone moded one of the smaller "E" series 2xPrimary Surefire lights for optimal brightness / regulation off a single 17670 cell?

thanks in advance!! All comments welcome!!

Most two cell surefires will accept a 17670 cell without modification (I am inclined to say all).

My current application is a Black G2 with a malkoff M60 (plenty bright for work). The same can be done with a 6P or a C2 etc.

The 17670 battery I received from Ultrafire is only rated at 3.7v.......two CR123's are closer to 6v.

As far as "optimization" is concerned...because of that voltage, I simply concluded its not worth the effort. The output on my E2e corresponding to that voltage limitation of the battery output relegates my light to a indoor, lower output, yet cheaper everyday light. Definately not an "optimized" light. But thats with no other mods....and of course I'd like to know if anyone could chime in otherwise.

There's plenty of E-series compatible heads that can run off a single Li-ion.

My current preference is an A19/GDuP head from the Sandwich Shoppe or the NiteCore Extreme head.
