I was looking for a traffic wand for the Streamlight Stinger LED and I found that they have a Streamlight 75913 Glow in the Dark Safety Wand available. I did a search here, but I could not did any posts about it. I am curious if anybody has used one of these and, if so, are they any better than a regular traffic wand or is this just a gimmick?

Streamlight 75913 Glow in the Dark Safety Wand for Stinger LED/Stinger/PolyStinge

I bought one of these this morning from Streicher's Police Equipment http://www.streichers.com/ I just started playing with it tonight. I think that besides the obvious use for traffic direction, this may have other uses as well. I turned this on in a darkened room as if I were in a power outage situation and it lit up the room pretty well considering it a flashlight and not an area lantern. I think that the glow in the dark aspect could be helpful as well. Say you are out camping and want to preserve the battery you could alternate having the Stinger on and off at regular intervals. Since it has been years since I experimented with any glow in the dark devices, I still have to determine what sort of cycle would be appropriate for those types if situations. Also, one of the places we camp at, many of the campsites look similar at night when returning from a hike. With this on strobe mode it should be pretty easy to find the correct camp site. According to the Streamlight website http://www.streamlight.com/product-selector.aspx this will run up to 6.75 continuous hours to the 10% output level".
