I'm looking to convert a dozen recessed can lights using 60 incandescent bulbs to the new CREE L6 downlight. They have a 2700k and a 3500k version, come with a 3 year warranty, and approx. 50,000 hour life.

The best price I can find is $88/each. Any suggestions on where to go for a better price? Should the price drop as quickly as the LED's we see in our flashlights?

Thanks,

Roadstir

No matter what price you pay for them, you will be saving money over the life of the fixtures.

But yes, your $88 is the best price I've heard.

Where do you get them for $88 ? I only found them for like $110 (if someone has a european distributor it would be even more interesting for me, I emailed Cree but havent received an answer in two months now)

Group buy? If we could get enough people interested in these to maybe order 100 or even 1000 from Cree I'm sure we could get a better price.

BTW, I'm not interested in these personally as I have no downlights. Even if I did, I'd rather have 5000K than the two available choices of 2700K or 3500K.
