I have a Maglite Solitaire mainly because A: they're cheap B: I just kind of like the feel of them. I got the Energizer size equivalent to a MN-21/23(two are just about 1/4" longer than a AAA and they're 12 volt, they are actually A23 the package says.
I'm doing this mod ---> http://www.flashlightreviews.com/mods/solitaire2.htm but I don't know what power of LED to put in it, I've seen up to 15,000 MCD or something like that, but I want to know exactly what I'm looking for rather than shooting in the dark and what MCD is in comparison to lumens.
I'm just looking for more oomph, supposedly these solitaires come stock with 2.3 lumen for 3.5 hours but I'm trying to shy away from the $25 drop-in replacement that has no information about lumen or battery life. What kind of LED would give me a good combination of lumen and battery life? And I'm looking for a 3mm for a direct fit.
