Another article on the same thing:

http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,26015527-5006785,00.html

This time with even more discription about the torch:

"A relieved Mr Brumby said earlier that light from a headlamp given to Mr Holding by Whinnett for his 37th birthday a few weeks ago was picked up by the aircraft on Monday night, allowing rescuers to pinpoint his location yesterday morning.
"She's delighted. She's particularly pleased that there was light coming from the tent last night -- she's claiming credit for that.
"She said she gave Tim a pair of those headlamp torch lights for his birthday and that's what was evident through the tent last night," the Premier said."

A pair of those headlamp torch lights -> hmm, who sells their headlamps in pairs.. or perhaps he got two of them... the plot thickens...

So , no actual flashlight ? No GPS ,

If he had used a GPS and a nice flashlight , he may have saved the state mucho denaro in not having to search for him ..

I wonder when the media will start mentioning the bill for the search ?

Be a lot cheaper to just give people going bush a GPS , than search for them .
