i want to buy
Cree R2 Drop-In 1-Mode LED Module (3.7V~18V / 26.5mm x 29mm

Input Voltage Range: 3.7V~18V
i will modify a sl4 UK dive light.(from plastic)
before i buy this:
1- 6v from 4 x c 1.5 battery will give me the max output?
2- the rang is 3.7V~18V.
do lamp will draw more amp from the battery if the totall is closer to the min volt (3.7).
3-3.7v battery will give the same beam as 18v one?
4-can i concet the led with out driver?
5-"and am getting 1.8A current draw measured at the tail"
were is the tail in the electrical circuit?
is this thr right way to measure?
6-were i can fine in the internet( i prefer http://www.dealextreme.com)
direct drive modulel that fit me?

Other Thoughts: I used this drop in for the basis for a high output R2 Mod . I put in a SSC MC-E direct drive module , and am getting 1.8A current draw measured at the tail . This is my brightest R2 ATM , and nothing else can compete with it [ have 6 R2's ] in 18650 format .
Bottomline: Good value for money , and for less than $15USD you can build a Hot Rod P60 drop in by putting in a direct drive controller board . Or just use it as is , and as shipped I had no issues with it .
