Any tricks to fitting a 14500 in the UF C3 Stainless?

Bought the 14500/AA version of the Q5 Ultrafire C3 stainless. My trustfire cells are just 1 mm too long. The internal spring inside the light flattens out, and you can't tighten the light anymore, leaving a gap. NIMHs fit fine.

Draws 1.1 amps from a 14500, so maybe I shouldn't try to force the issue.

exact same problem i had with my SS C3 (now not working after a fall onto the floor). Using the 14500 leaves a gap, nothing can be done about that.

NIMhs it is then. Mine has been off and on sporadic. Associated with how tight the switch is I believe. I'm guessing the circuit board at either end is flexing. It'll seemingly randomly turn itself back on after it turns itself off.

I was planning on doing a driver swap or something anyways. Although 2 amps off nimhs is pretty nice.
