The new lumapower incendio V3 has a smart UI with tactical lock.
What does that mean?

If I've understood correctly it means that once you've set the brightness level that you want, you can switch the light on and off without it changing levels.

By repeated half-presses on the switch of Incendio V3 you change the level. Once you have reached the one you want you can half-press the switch four times in sequence and the level is locked. You can now use the switch for temporary on without changing the level. This memory setting can be cleared only by repeating the four half-presses sequence.

Without locking the level the memory of the last one used is still on, but if you play with the switch you change it.

That's actually a verry nice system for a light that size.

Do you have the R2 or Q3 version?

It's just simply a mode lock . (which is nice)

But why did they choose to call it "tactical" .... I wonder .

I guess "Stealth" is soon what they will call the "Off" mode .

I use "Stealth" mode .............. a lot . (makes me invisible in the darkness)

I aggree that the word tactical is used for marketing.
I don't think that people would use this in a tacticle situation.

But, i do like the possibility of the lock function.

Yes, there's nothing tactical in a pocket flashlight ...

I remember though that when I was in the army some 35 years ago they gave us socks and under pants which we used to call 'tactical' and laughed a lot about it. There's nothing really new. :p

@Robvantour: I have the R2 version and this is the beam:
