Did you wait a minute after the light was disassembled so that the Clicky can recognize a new cell?

StriderEdc,

If you allowed a rechargeable battery (with or without a protection circuit) to run "all of the way down", per the manual, the flashlight will eventually turn off to protect the battery - after providing significant notice before it does so. Once in this state, you must remove the battery for at least 60 seconds when changing the battery to force a reset, which will exit the battery protection state.

If you are seeing a different problem, you should contact customer support so they can help you.

Henry.
