Hello; I would like to ask those that know about the d2flex if they think this idea would work. I am trying to drive a SST-90 to 4 or 5 amps. My battery would be a 4 18650 pack at 7.4V. This voltage is needed for other accessories. I am thinking of using a efficient adjustable voltage regulator like this one.

To supply power to a d2flex. As the d2flex sounds like it could drive up to 6 amps & the voltage regulator is adjustable through the vf range of the led I should be able to control the current to the led shouldn't I. I am trying to avoid wasting power, space & creating heat with a resistor.
Does this sound like it might work? Are there any alternative ideas out there? Thanks
