what\'s in your CD player?

ok, so what are you listening to right *now* or were the last time you were listening to something. radio does not count; has to be some media that you actively chose to listen to, vinyl, cd, tape, dat, whatever. mp3 do no count (otherwise, my list would number too high and i'm sure yours would too!)

CD currently in car: a compilation:

Eugene (Bad Boy, Cha Cha, Feel Me) from My True Style album (korean pop)

Koyote (Abandonment, All The Time, Appeal, Beloving, Clear Vision, Emergency, Go, Inadvertence, Let's Play) off their self titled 5th album (k-pop)

JTL (A Better Day) from Enter the Dragon (kpop)

W-inds (Super Lover) can't recall album (japanese pop)

NRG (Hitsong) can't recall album (kpop)

Move (Rage Your Dream), ending theme to Initial D First Stage

before that, another compilation CDs of Enigma/Gipsy Kings/Ottmar Liebert/Final Fantasy X soundtrack

So, let's have at it.

currently Michelle Branch's "Hotel Paper". The cd is copy protected, wasn't able to rip it in Itunes 4.01. I would be running my Ipod right now if it wasn't for that slight problem.

Re: what\'s in your CD player?

My 200 CD changer just cycled from Lais (three Belgian girls ("angel voices" according to more than one reviewer) singing mostly old Flemish songs) to Willie Nelson & Waylon Jennings.
Since I type two-fingered, I'll not list all that's in the player /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif but there's a lot of Irish stuff, singer/songwriters, a bit of Country and almost everything of Dire Straits, Kate Bush, Loreena McKennit, Patty Smith, Noa, and lots of Tom Waits.

The CD changer is nearing the end of its usefull life, so now I'm thinking about a hard disk based model.

Re: what\'s in your CD player?

Went to Anime Expo in Anaheim this past 4th of July week, and got to hear ES Posthumus for the first time (through music videos, of all else)... And for those anime fans who've seen Dot Hack-Sign, you'll know the name Yuki Kajiura...

Now, Nada and Pompeii are both on an RW, along with some Apocalyptica and a mix of technos and a few from Yuki... Makes the drive from LA quite enjoyable, actually... Who would've thunk music would make 500 miles seem like a breeze...

Re: what\'s in your CD player?

The new Radiohead album was the most recent CD in my CD player. I mostly listen to mp3s, mostly of music that I own. I rip all my CDs and listen to everything from the computer rather than dealing with the hassle of CDs.

As for which albums I'm listening to these days (in mp3 form), the heaviest rotation recently has gone to:

Radiohead - Hail to the Thief
Red Hot Chilli Peppers - By the Way
Pernice Brothers - The World Won't End
Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots
Creeper Lagoon - Take Back the Universe

Re: what\'s in your CD player?

In a fairly random order of play: I Feel Free, Eric Clapton; Hiring Fair, Fairport Convention; Corcovado, Getz/Gilberto; Alma-Ville, Vince Guaraldi; Defiant, Christopher Lawrence; and on now: Oh Well, Fleetwood Mac.

Eclectic to say the least ...

(At least I don't usually mix Classical and Modern in the same session. Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition by Ashkenazy is not best sandwiched between Sandstorm by Darude ... and Celestial Soda Pop by Ray Lynch, for example /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif )
