will these kill an XPG?

I ordered these, but now I see they say 3.7v

The Cree XPG wants 3.3v I think.

Am I asking for trouble?

It puts out 800mA and as Cree states, XP-G's can be driven at a maximum of 1500mA. So they will work together without any problem.

no ....

3.6-9V is the Input Voltage of the driver. Vout depends on temperatur, led etc. ... The current is fix to ~800mA. The voltage adjusts itself automatically

I would say to be careful. I've seen drivers that were designed for XR-E that would overdrive XP-E or XP-G so definitely a good idea to check the actual current with a multimeter.

See this thread on the DX3256 buck driver. The driver has a totally new buck IC and design. It delivers 925mA nominal drive current. It works fine with XP-Gs.
